Pediatric Nutrition Training Modules

Pediatric Nutrition Training Modules (2017)

These modules are the result of a training session held by Registered Dietitian Nutritionists from the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services/Children’s Rehabilitation Service for nutritionists in Mississippi who had been newly hired to provide outpatient services to children with special health care needs. The modules feature foundational information designed to refresh knowledge levels pertaining to the nutritional outpatient follow-up of children with commonly seen diagnoses. The modules have undergone external review and have been approved for CPE. Click on each module title to access its associated training materials. Upon completion, submit the post-test evaluation and a CPE acknowledgment certificate will be emailed to you within 2 weeks.  Direct questions to Julie McDougal, Center of Excellence in MCH Education, Science & Practice, UAB School of Public Health.

Although every effort has been made to ensure that the nutrition information presented is accurate and up to date, these modules are designed only to provide helpful information on the subjects discussed. The best approach to diagnosing and treating nutrition-impacting conditions is a team approach with oversight from a physician experienced in the care of the specific condition in question. The publishers, authors, and reviewers are not responsible for any specific health needs or negative consequences that may arise from the use of the information in these modules.
